Recently, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian attended the commencement ceremony of the Cambodian Highway No. 31 and No. 33 upgrade projects.
Hun Sen once again thanked China for providing substantial assistance to Cambodia’s infrastructure construction and affirmed the outstanding contributions made by Chinese construction machinery enterprises represented by XCMG to the economic and social development of Cambodia.
Routes 31 and 33 are located in the southwest of Cambodia, connecting provinces and cities such as Takeo, Kampot, and Kep. They are important roads connecting the areas along the route to the capital Phnom Penh and Vietnam ports. At present, a total of more than 20 pieces of equipment including XCMG road rollers, bulldozers, and motor graders have participated in the project, and more XCMG equipment will be invested in the construction in the future.
At the commencement ceremony, Hun Sen, Wang Wentian, and others boarded XCMG’s complete set of road machinery successively to perform the ground-breaking ceremony.
Hun Sen emphasized that in recent years, China has continued to expand its aid to and investment in Cambodia in basic livelihood areas such as roads, water supply, electricity, education, and agriculture. Without the help of Chinese friends, it would be difficult for Cambodia’s infrastructure to develop. It is hoped that China will continue to support Cambodia’s post-epidemic economic recovery and, as always, welcome Chinese companies to invest in Cambodia.
In Cambodia, after years of deep cultivation, XCMG products have played an important role in the construction of local infrastructure and transportation development such as Morgan Building and Jingang Expressway in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
At the ribbon-cutting and inauguration ceremony for the new building of the Cambodian Ministry of Public Works and Transport, 205 sets of machinery and equipment delivered by XCMG to the Ministry of Transport have been delivered by the Cambodian government to various provinces and cities for road maintenance in various regions. The quality of roads is of great significance, and XCMG’s contribution to local infrastructure construction has been highly praised by Prime Minister Hun Sen and other leaders.
It is understood that the upgrading and reconstruction project of No. 31 and No. 33 roads under construction will further improve the construction of Cambodia’s road network, greatly improve the standards and overall service level of roads in southwest Cambodia, and promote the rapid economic development of provinces along the route and improve the southwestern coastal areas. It is of great significance to improve the tourism and traffic conditions in the region and improve the living standards of the local people.
